Apologizing for not writing sooner--the cure takes much of his time, as do a brother and uncle--, assuring Bohrmann that he is writing beautiful music to his book, asking what the charming innkeeper Mirandolina is doing and if Bohrmann is still interested in her, saying how much he likes Bohrmann's work--how happy he would be if he could say "our work"--, etc.
